Prom Thep - Best Place For Sunset On Phuket

 

 

Of all the things to do on Phuket, I am surprised no one ever really talks about Prom Thep. It is beautiful cape at the south western tip of the island and by far the best place to watch the sunset. There is a famous statue there and what looks like it could be a national park or heritage site. When you arrive there you are well above the sea level and the cape is below you, but if you want to get closer you can hike down. There is also a nice observation deck above the whole area. Unfortunately most people in the Patong beach area are about an hour away by car so it is probably best to start heading over there by about 4PM to make sure you get there in time for sunset.
