Just a few years ago I remember Koh Lanta had only a couple of small places on it. Now it seems to have grown rather quickly and seems to be moving faster than some of the other islands that have started to develop like Koh Chang. Has anyone been there lately who might be able to share some insight about what is happening on Koh Lanta at the moment?

I was there once jake, but it quite long ago. I just did a quick check in the hotel data base on this site which revealed about 22 hotesl in Koh Lanta. So this would suggest it has grown a lot since I was there when it only had no more than half a dozen hotels. It also seems there are a lot of high-end places just looking at the price range of the hotels, but also quite a few for the budget traveler it seems. Anyway, despite all the hotel development, I would expect it is still a beautiful place to visit.
